It is common that businesses will utilize a fleet of two way radios for a long period of time. Two way radios are durable, long-lasting solutions, so it is understandable that upgrades may not happen very often for some. However, when the time does come for an upgraded or expanded system, you should really know how to do this the right way.
Expanding Your System
When adding on to your two way radio fleet, you may question whether you have to stick with the two way radios, which you are currently using. The answer is no. You do not have to purchase the same make and model to work with your radios. What you do have to be sure of, however, is that the new product is compatible with your current handhelds. This way, they can work together and hopefully even better than before!
Upgrading Your System
Looking to upgrade your system? If you are interested in getting rid of your old radios and purchasing new ones, there are a couple ways to do this:
Phasing Out (Analog to Digital)
When switching from an analog to a digital two way radio system, there are a couple of options as to how you can accomplish this. The first option is to slowly phase out your old analog radios if that is what you are currently working with. By choosing an analog/digital two way radio option, which can operate using both technologies, this allows for users to utilize their current analog system until they are able to replace all of the analog-only two way radios with these newer models. Once this system has been fully replaced, users can immediately switch over to their new digital system and get working right away. This is the most cost-effective way to upgrade larger fleets, but may take a little more time.
Another way, if you have enough of a budget, is to switch over to digital all at once. This is the easiest solution and will upgrade your communications more quickly.
Trade-In
No matter what type of changes you are making to your communications, whether it’s replacing older radios, switching from analog to digital or simply expanding your current fleet, when you work with Two Way Direct we offer a trade-in program, which allows customers to send in their old two way radios for a discount on newly purchased ones. This is a great way to save money on new products while also leaving room in your budget for other areas of business.
